I've been hearing a bunch about this book (probably because it's on a blog tour) and pretty much everyone who has read it has liked it. This is probably one I wouldn't have gone out of my way to read on my own, but your review has changed my mind. I think you make an excellent point about the difference between historical fiction and non-fiction - if I want to know just the facts, I'll read non-fiction, but if I'm reading historical fiction, I expect there will be a storyline that will not necessarily be motivated by the facts but will have some creative twists.
